DIMAPUR — The Fellowship of Naga Baptist Associations (FNBA) has called for the immediate cessation of violence in Manipur and urged all sides to initiate dialogue, stating that continued confrontation will only deepen suffering and delay prospects for peace.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, the FNBA appealed to “Kuki and Naga brothers and sisters” to exercise restraint and commit to peace amid ongoing tensions affecting communities in the state.
The organisation stated that the situation has caused deep pain, loss, and uncertainty to families and villages, and cautioned that continued violence would erode trust and hinder the possibility of a secure future.
It urged community leaders, civil organisations, church bodies and individuals to take immediate steps towards de-escalation and restoration of calm, emphasising that no lasting solution can be achieved through force.

The FNBA further called for the initiation of “sincere and constructive dialogue” as the only viable path to address grievances and work towards mutually acceptable solutions.
Invoking Christian values, the association stated that there is a shared responsibility to uphold the sanctity of life and pursue reconciliation, even in difficult circumstances.
It added that the present moment calls for collective responsibility, stating that the future of communities depends on the choices made now.
