DIMAPUR, MAY 10: Nagaland is all set to witness the first ever Nagaland Adventure Club (NAC) Open Supercross (national), a motorcycle racing challenge organized by NAC under the banner of The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMCSI) from 1st June to 3rd June at Local ground Kohima.
This was announced by NAC President K.K.Paul Rutsa and Secretary Burakum Ao at a press conference held at The Garden Supermarket Dimapur on Tuesday. The NAC Open Supercross will be the first of its kind to be organized in northeast India under the banner of FMCSI which will be conducted as per the rules and regulation of the Federation and judged by the experts.
The national Open Supercross will be competed under four categories:
1. Expert - (Indian motorcycle only upto 500 cc)
2. Novice - (Indian Motorcycle only upto 500 cc)
3. Open Category- ( Indian and Foreign motorcycle upto 500 cc)
4. Local Category (Special category for Nagas) - (Indian motorcycle only upto 500 cc)
The winners will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs. 3 lakh each. The registration fee for expert category is Rs.3000, Rs. 2000 for Novice category, Rs. 1000 for Open category and Rs.500 for local category. Participants from outside Nagaland will be provided with free lodging and Start Money.
The organizers conveyed that through this event, local riders will be given an opportunity to exhibit their potentials and be a focus for prospective renowned motor companies for sponsors. “We believe that slowly there will be many riders especially from outside the northeast region flocking in for such events organized by NE organizers” added NAC executives.
Highlighting the criteria for participation, the organizers informed that each entrant should posses valid driving license and valid medical certificate attesting their fitness physically and mentally.
With expectation of more than 50 participants from across the country, the gate of Kohima Local ground will be opened on 1st June 2016 from 9 am for spectators with an entry fee of Rs.100.
