N Obang Memorial FT lifts Marsosang trophy

Chuchuyimlang, Dec. 17 (EMN): N Obang Memorial Football Team are the champions of 12th Marsosang Football Trophy after defeating We XI FC 4-0 in the final at Chuchuyimlang football ground on Tuesday.

The goal scorers were Temjenmeren, who netted two, Hanglenib and Rhitsu.

The winners collected a cash prize of INR 1,50,000 along with the trophy. The runner-up received INR 75,000 plus other gift hampers.

The two other semi-finalists: Sporting Club Changtongya and Moanungsang Memorial SC received a INR 10,000 each.

The highest scorer was Temjenmeren; best goalkeeper, Sentensang; best defender, Jaminungsang; most promising player, Bendangtemjen; best player, Nyithong; and ‘best disciplined’ team, Sporting Club Changtongya.

The Marsosang Football Trophy was started in 1994 and this year’s edition. The biennial event is organised by Rocky Club with sponsorship from late Marsosang’s family.

Commissioner and Secretary of Land Resources, Senti Ao was the special guest at the closing function.
