There are innumerable problems in our society today : unemployment, corruption, rise in rate of crimes, decline in moral values etc. Educationists try to solve it by providing quality education, humanists try to eliminate it by seeking for the common good, religion tries in vain to make people good and so on, people try to bring changes. In spite of all their well intended efforts the density as well as the intensity of our troubles seem to be enlarging. We are not able to solve the problems because we are not aware of the root cause of all our problems. For instance if a person X has HIV AIDS ( weakens the immune system so that the person falls easy prey to other diseases),this person may be suffering from cough and fever, giving him medicines for cough and fever will not do him much good since his real problem is HIV AIDS. He happened to contract those sicknesses due to his weak immune system. Likewise the root cause of our problem is not unemployment or poor infrastructure or even corruption, these are simply the consequences of our failure to deal with the root issue and this root cause is the lack of one thing. Just one thing! and that is our lack of the knowledge of God i.e His word. Because we do not know God nor give Him the glory due to Him, our minds become dull to wisdom (understanding), becoming wise in our own deceits and so become fools in God’s sight. (ambulance for cows!) This one problem also makes our imaginations vain and our affections vile (Romans 1:21,26) hence making wrong choices and taking steps with low or no discernment. As a result comes the rest of our problems and choke us blinding us to the real issue. The only remedy in knowing God, so how to know God? It is by reading the bible because it is God’s word to us and then obeying it to be saved. God says “there is no peace for the wicked” ( even if that person is rich or famous or strong). There is only one way to God and to make peace with Him - Jesus (John 14:6). “Call unto me and be saved, I am God and there is no other” says the Lord of hosts.
PS- Read the bible with an honest unbiased heart and God will transform your life.
