DIMAPUR: Meriema Women Society (MWS) has claimed that the beneficiaries of pension grant for widows/ destitute under the department of Women Resource Development from its village with bank accounts at SBI and NSCB, which was announced on October 2, 2022, have not receive their transferred amount till date.
It stated on October 2, 2022, Angami Women Organisation (AWO) had announced allotment of pension grant for widows/ destitute, wherein it informed that the beneficiaries with SBI and NSCB account holders would receive the amount directly through bank transfer. It added that payment to other beneficiaries without banking accounts at SBI and NSCB were made at AWO office on October 10, 11 and 12, 2022.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]The society chairperson, Banuo Miachieo, and the general secretary, Neithonuo Phewhuo, claimed the beneficiaries from Meriema with bank accounts at SBI and NSCB have not received the transferred amount till date. It, therefore, questioned as to why it has not reached the beneficiaries if the amount has already been disbursed by the government.
In the light of the above stated circumstances, the society appealed to the concerned department to look into the matter so that the rightful beneficiaries receive their entitlement at the earliest.
