The Muslim Council Dimapur has condemned the abduction and killing of a truck owner-cum-driver Atabur Rehman and his associate Abdus Sahid Choudhury of Khermahal, Dimapur by unknown miscreants.
The persons went missing from a place near Manja since February after parking their truck by the roadside and a ransom was demanded from the family by unknown persons.
According to a press note issued by A Rehman, Working President, Muslim Council Dimapur, “On 27th February the Assam Police recovered three dead bodies from the banks of Diphu River which include these two missing persons from Dimapur.” The Muslim Council appreciated the efforts of Dimapur police in arresting few suspects and is hopeful that the whole gang of miscreants would be arrested and punished soon.
