The Musicians Guild and Kini tour of Alobo Naga, icon of Northeast India were launched at Symphony Cafe in Kohima on May 4 Friday.
Musicians Guild is formed by a group of young musicians with the primary objective to promote local musicians in the state.
Mele Pucho highlighted how the musicians in the state have struggled over the years to promote music, and how in the last few years, many musicians have given up because of no proper platform and sponsorship for the musicians. He said the Musicians Guild will in their little ways try to promote local musicians to showcase their talents.
The Dash Show is part of the Musicians Guild, which is also a first event. It was informed that many shows would be coming up in the days to come.
In the upcoming event, musicians will be given a platform to perform and promote their talents.
Similar shows will be held on second Saturday in every two months.
Kicking off his second album, Kini tour, Alobo Naga performed original songs. In the first phase, he has covered Diphu, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Senapati, Imphal, Churachapur, Ukhrul, Siliguri, Gangtok, Thimphu, Bhutan, Bangladesh , Kuwait. After the show in the Kohima, Alobo Naga is leaving to perform in Lucknow on May 9 and the 11th, Goa on May 14 and Mumbai May 17 to end the first phase of Kini tour.
Alobo has to his credit, winner of Best Song , Best English song and Best artist from northeast of India at the recent Artist Aloud Music Award, the biggest independent music award in India. He is also the winner of Best Indian Act at MTV European Music Award 2012 and a recipient of governor’s Award for excellence in music 2015.
He is also said to be the artist with the highest shows in a year in India since 2015-2017 doing more than 600 shows across the world.
Naga is also the Ambassador for Swacch Bharat for Nagaland appointed by the Prime Minister of India. He also composed and sang for a song for Bollywood movie “October” starring Varun Dhawan which was released two weeks back.
The show was hosted by Melendez Pucho and Mengu Suokhrie.
