Music students serenade during function at Raj Bhavan

DIPR KOHIMA, AUGUST 15 AS part of the Independence Day Celebration 2013, programme for Governor’s at home hosted by Governor of Nagaland Dr. Ashwani Kumar, was held at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhawan, Kohima. A glimpse of the promotional activities of Government of Nagaland through the Music Task Force, was the main highlight of the Governor’s at – home programme, where various artistes from Nagaland captivated the audience with their musical treat. The performers included, Violin Ensemble recital by Symphony School of Music, Kohima, Instrumental Orchestra by the Kohima Music School, NBCC voices in unison and solo performances by former Naga Idol Toshinaro, an 8 year old Sadimenla Jamir a music student of Symphony School of Music Kohima and Kenei Chale. The musical and vocal presentations were commented to be of high standards and expectation raising performances and the Orchestra was wished to become the first Orchestra of the state in the near future according to the Project Director, Music Task Force. The programme was attended among others by the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio accompanied by his wife, CPL leader Tokheho Yepthomi, Parliamentary Secretaries, Advisors, AHODs, HODs, bureaucrats, leaders of NGOs and Civil societies, Bishop of Nagaland, and high ranking army and para military officials.
