DIMAPUR — Advisor of Law and Justice, Dr. Chumben Murry said that he has decided not to contest the upcoming generation election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, to be held on February 27.
In a message to the electorates of 38 Wokha, Murry, the incumbent MLA of the assembly constituency, said that he is greatly indebted to those who have voted him to the NLA twice, as well as his well-wishers from other constituencies.
“I am profoundly emotional of the fact that, extreme goodwill of my voters saw me obtaining consistent 14000 plus votes in all my three elections. I am equally profound in my feeling and am proud of my people that, because of this extreme goodwill, I won elections with minimum logistic expenditures.
“I would also like to exhort my people to continue with this God blessed good attitude of ‘free vote’ principle in their lives. Because of this, I will be forever indebted to all my supporters and well-wishers and I assure one and all that, I will continue to work for the betterment of my community particular and Nagas in general, though I leave it to God for new horizons,” read the message.

Dr. Murry won the election in 2018 from 38 Wokha AC on Naga People’s Front (NPF) ticket. He joined the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) last year along with 20 other legislators and was inducted into the state government as Advisor of Law and Justice.
However, in the 20:40 seat-sharing arrangement between the BJP and the NDPP, the constituency went to the saffron party, following which Renbonthung Ezung was given the ticket.
