Dimapur, Dec. 10: The Deukwaram Village Council (DVCN), Peletkie Students’ Union (PSU), Lekie Mtei Nko (LMN) and Peletkie Village Council (PVC) have strongly condemned the gruesome murder of 18-year-old Totalape Kenn, son of Kisuipeu Kenn, of Jalukie-B village under Peren district in the wee hours of Friday.
In a press release on Saturday, DVCN chairman Ichiau Kenn and secretary Puilungbe have expressed shock and anger over the murder of the youth whose body was recovered from an irrigation canal near a paddy field under Jalukie-B village. The DVCN stated that an FIR was lodged with Jalukie PS the same day at 12 noon in this connection. It urged the competent authority investigating the case to take all necessary measures to deliver justice at the earliest, failing which the villagers of DVCN will be forced to initiate retaliatory action as deemed fit.
The PSU stated that such barbaric crime should be condemned by every right thinking citizen and that befitting exemplary punishment be awarded to those responsible for the dastardly act to avert recurrence of such crime in the society. The union appealed to the investigating agency to immediately and efficiently conduct the investigation and deliver justice at the earliest, failing which it warned to take up its own course of action.
The LMN president Hiarwetlang, in its press note, strongly urged the investigating agency for immediate necessary investigation without any bias, failing which it would it would take its own action.
The PVC chairman Ariangbe and secretary Reluibuing has strongly urged the investigating agency to expedite the investigation, failing it will be forced to take up the matter as deemed fit.
