Dimapur, Oct. 31 (EMN): Community organisations have decided not to attend the ‘consultative meeting’ that was stated to have been convened by the government of Nagaland to discuss the Municipal Act. The Angami Public Organisation (APO) and the Chakhesang Public Organisation (APO) issued a press release on Tuesday.
Tribal hohos, the press release stated, held a meeting at the APO hall in Kohima town on Tuesday Oct. 31, and had ‘threadbare discussion’ in connection with revocation of the resolution of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly taken on 24th November 2016 pertaining to amendment of Nagaland Municipal Act.
“The hohos resolved not to attend any consultative meeting called by the government of Nagaland until and unless the 24th November 2016, 2016 resolution is revoked by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly,” the press release stated.
In other matters, the organisations resolved to appeal to the government of India to invite “NSCN to the negotiating table.”
Also, the organisations took note of what the press release called the ‘frequent harassment’ of state government officials by the National Investigation Agency “in the midst of political talk between the Gol and the Naga national political groups.”
The next meeting shall be convened by the APO in due consultation with the tribal hohos, the press release added.
The presidents of the APO, Dr. Vilhusa Seleyi, and of the CPO, Kekhwengulo Lea, appended the press release.
