A week-long Mumbai International Film Festival in Mizoram will begin next Monday, September 15.
The event is organised jointly by Mumbai-based Films Division under Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and Information & Public Relations Department under Mizoram government. Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla is slotted to inaugurate the Film Festival at 1:00 PM on the appointed day. Film Making Workshop will also be organised during the Film Festival which will last 6 days, sources said.Mizo film ‘Chengrang Lanu’, directed by Malsawmkima Chhangte, will be the Inaugural Film. ‘Chengrang Lanu’ was included among those selected for featuring at the Mumbai International Film Festival 2014 in Mumbai early this year.
Resources persons from Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) will impart training every day (from 9:00 a.m- 2:00 p.m.) to select Film Directors in the Workshop during the festival. From 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.) onwards, films selected by MIFF will be shown. Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) is held after every one year by Films Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA), Nariman Point, Mumbai.
