Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): District Health Society under the aegis of Directorate of Health & Family Welfare Nagaland organised a two-day health camp at District Hospital Kiphire on September 19 and the 20th.
An update from district media officer (NHM) Atsali T informed that the medical team was led by Dr. Vikeyie Losu, Health & Family Welfare (D&FW), and doctors form Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) -- Dr. Mereninla Senlem, Dy, Director DH&FW (Opthalmologist); Dr. Kedozeto Punyu (ENT Surgeon); Dr. Sedengulie Nagi (Paediatric Surgeon); Dr. C. Wathsutho Nyuthe (Medicine); Dr. N Azo Louis Kharutso (Obst & Gyane;, Dr. Khriemenuo Koza, (Paediatrician); and Dr. Kehuosetuo (Orthopedician) from Dh Phek.
A total of 1207 OPD cases were registered during the camp; and out of the total patients enrolled, 21 patients underwent minor and major surgeries, according to the update. Medicines and surgery items were distributed free of cost to the patients besides IEC materials.
Dr. Losu is also said to have performed surgery during the camp.
He was accompanied by Dr. Kikameren, SPO AB-PMJAY; Dr. K Pewezo DPO (RCH/UIP) Kiphire; and Dr. Sao, Consultant AB-PMJAY, during his official visit to CHC Pungro and Health & Wellness Centre (H&WC) Phvkiu, S/C Salomi and HWC Thanamir for monitoring and supervision, the update informed. He also planted a maple tree at CHC Pungro premises in commemoration of one year Ayushman Bharat Anniversary besides interacting with the public and hospital staff.
