MTSU inter-high school tourney concludes

Our Correspondent Mon, September 8 The closing ceremony of the 3rd Inter High School Tournament organized by Mon Town Student’s Union (MTSU) came to an end on September 5 with Lomei Konyak, President KNSK as chief guest at Local ground, Mon. Speaking at the closing ceremony programme, Lomei Konyak said that books not only the education that mould students career but sport also teaches how to unite and cooperate with one another in a long run. She urged the students to have games spirit and have determination in sport and added that winning and losing is a part of game. She also thanks the MTSU for organizing such tournament and encouraged the students’ body to organize games and sports in near future. All together 14 schools participated in the tournament where Edith Douglas High School was declared winner and the runner up was Little Flower School in football (men’s). In Volleyball (girls), Govt. High School-D emerged winner while Kongjong School bagged the runners-up position. Along with trophy a cash prize of Rs. 7000 (Seven Thousand) was given to the winner and Rs. 5000 (Five Thousand) to the runner-up respectively. An exhibition match was also played between MTSU XI and Teachers XI where MTSU XI defeated Teachers XI with 2 goals. President Konyak Union (KU) and President Konyak Student’s Union (KSU) were also present at the closing ceremony program. Earlier, the program was chaired by Ngapgang Konyak Asst. Women Co-Ordinator. Exhortation was exhorted by Rozouseyi Vese DDEO. Vote of thanks was delivered by Pangnyei Konyak Asst. Youth Resources and Sport Secy and benediction was pronounced by Pastor, Papong Fellowship.
