Changtongya (Mokokchung), Sep. 30 (EMN): With the initiative of the Industries and Commerce department, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has approved to set up a food processing cluster at Liro Yim under Changtongya sub-division in Mokokchung district.
This was announced during a preview meeting of the project held at Changtongya town hall, which was attended by the advisor for Industries and Commerce, ESDE and NIDC, Imnatiba, and host of top officials from Kohima and Mokokchung districts on September 30.
Speaking at the meeting, Imnatiba sought the public support for the successful implementation and operation of the projects. Stating that the implementing agencies are serious about the project, he called upon the people to give full cooperation and support to the department to fast track the project.
Imnatiba also asserted that as a political leader, he wants to accomplish all the dreams of its people. While acknowledging his own limitations, Imnatiba admitted that he would not be able to fulfil all the aspirations of the people at one-go.
Director of Industries and Commerce, K Hokishi Assummi stated that Liro Yim has allotted 30 acres of land to set-up the project. Besides the existing allotted land, he has projected an additional 20 acres of land for future prospects of the project.
He assured the people of Changtongya that the department would implement the project at the earliest. Prior to the implementation of the project, he stated that the department would provide skill training for the workers since there are varieties of products under the scheme.
He also maintained that the food processing cluster is not only for Liro Yim alone but for the whole district and added that the department has planned to make the project as a role model for the rest of Nagaland.
NIDC managing director, P Zuvito Waths Sema, informed that NIDC would be the funding agency for the ambitious project.
Meanwhile, Kekhrievor Kevichusa, commissioner and secretary of Industries and Commerce, inaugurated a sub-DIC in Changtongya. The sub-DIC would be the 28th government office added under Changtongya SDO (C) headquarters. Simultaneously, the director of Industries and Commerce K Hokishi Assumi inaugurated a multi-purpose hall at Changtongya.
