Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): The inaugural edition of MS Ahluwalia Memorial 3×3 Open Basketball Tournament will be held at Children’s Park Basketball Court, PWD Colony in Dimapur from September 27 to the 28th. The tournament is organised by the Dimapur District Basketball Association (DDBA) in collaboration with Nagaland Basketball Association (NBA), according to an update received here on Monday. The event will be held on a league-cum-knockout basis.
The matches will be conducted by James M Bamon, a senior referee of Basketball Federation of India (BFI) and Meghalaya Basketball Association (MBA) along with the local referees. He will also conduct a short clinic for the local referees from September 25 to the 26th.
The champion will receive a cheque of INR 20000 while the runners-up will receive INR 15000. The (Most Valuable Player) MVP of semi final matches will receive INR 1000 each and the MVP of the final match will walk away with INR 3000.
Registration fee is INR 1000 and the last date for submission of forms is extended to September 25.
