Dimapur, Nov. 1 (EMN): The state’s health department has informed that 3,90,103 children out of the targeted 4,48,504 have been covered by the measles-rubella vaccination campaign in Nagaland. According to an update from the Health and Family Welfare department on Thursday, at least 95% coverage is ‘very important’ to ensure viruses do not circulate and ‘keep infecting the children’. However, the latest data shows that ‘only’ 86.97% have been vaccinated. Stating that “false rumours and misinformation” have discouraged few parents from getting their children vaccinated, the department has appealed ‘all to come forward and get every child vaccinated.’
