DIMAPUR — Nagaland
lone Lok Sabha MP, S Supongmeren Jamir,and the Yimkhiung Union Dimapur (YUD) have condoled the demise of former
minister, K Zungkum, who passed away on December 6.
Jamir stated that Zungkum dedicated his life to serving the
people of Nagaland adding that from his early days as a teacher and translator
to his role in politics and the Naga national movement, he worked tirelessly
for the welfare and progress of the state.
“He was also a strong advocate for the Yimkhiung community
and played key roles in various organisations,” Jamir said and added that his
contributions to society would always be remembered.
He has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family
members.
In another statement, the Yimkhiung Union Dimapur (YUD) has
described K Zungkum as an unparalleled leader, a treasure trove of its people,
prominent member, fatherly figure and pioneer in various fields for Yimkhiungs.
It stated that he had dedicated and contributed his best
service for the growth and progress of the people he served and represented. It
added that his exemplary life would be cherished with profound respect and
admiration.
The union has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family
members.
