- DIMAPUR — Lok Sabha MP and President of the
Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), S Supongmeren Jamir on Monday held
a crucial meeting with the deputy commissioner of Kohima, additional deputy
commissioner, and the sub-divisional officer (civil), Jakhama, to assess the
ongoing situation at the landslide-affected area in Phesama village under
Kohima district.

- During the meeting, the deputy commissioner apprised the MP
on the prompt actions being undertaken in coordination with the village council
of Phesama and the affected landowners, to ensure early clearance and
restoration of the blocked roads, the NPCC stated in a press release.

- The MP expressed concern over the disruption caused to
commuters and stressed the need for expedited measures.

- “A significant part of the discussion also centred on the
ongoing challenges related to the bypass road connecting Packages 1 to 4.
- The district administration informed that serious efforts
were being made to resolve the issues by engaging with the respective landowners,
contractors, and officials from the National Highways and Infrastructure
Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL),” the release stated.
- The MP acknowledged the efforts of the administration and
urged for collaborative and time-bound action to ensure road connectivity is
restored at the earliest, considering its importance to the public and regional
transport, it added.
