MP S Phangnon Konyak donated a Bolero vehicle to the Konyak Literature Board in Mon to promote the Konyak language.

DIMAPUR — A meeting of the Konyak Literature Board (KLB) was held at the private residence of Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, S Phangnon Konyak in Mon on Monday, during which a vehicle was handed over to the board.
According to an update, S Manlip Konyak, Chairman of the KLB, speaking on the occasion, expressed gratitude to the MP for her contribution of a Bolero vehicle. He assured that the KLB would further strengthen its efforts in promoting and preserving the Konyak language.
It was mentioned that recognising the importance of mother tongue preservation, the MP extended the vehicle support under MP LAD 2025-26 through the Department of Education, Nagaland.
In her address, Phangnon lauded the board for its dedicated efforts in uplifting the linguistic and cultural identity of the Konyak community. She encouraged it to continue its work with greater zeal and to strive for excellence at higher levels.
Further, she stressed the vital role of the younger generation in sustaining the language and suggested that young minds come forward with innovative initiatives, including the establishment of a vernacular academy, to promote and nurture the Konyak language among the youth.
The programme concluded with a dedication prayer by Rev. E Yeangphong Konyak, District Chaplain of Mon, followed by the ceremonial handing over of the vehicle key to the chairman of the KLB.
