Nityanand Rai reviewed the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes in Mokokchung.
DIMAPUR — Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai on Monday stressed the need for effective implementation of centrally sponsored schemes, saying their proper execution is essential to achieve the Government of India's vision of inclusive and equitable growth across the country.
Chairing a review meeting with heads of departments and district-level officers at the Deputy Commissioner's conference hall in Mokokchung as part of his two-day visit to the district, Rai called on departments implementing central schemes to establish clear priorities and formulate well-defined action plans for the efficient delivery of public services, according to a DIPR report.
The minister emphasised the importance of transparency, accountability and timely implementation to ensure that the intended benefits of government programmes reach the people.
He said effective execution of centrally sponsored schemes would play a key role in achieving their intended goals and objectives.
Highlighting Nagaland's vast agricultural potential, Rai observed that the state is endowed with favourable natural resources and climatic conditions for organic farming. He called for the optimum and systematic utilisation of available resources to promote sustainable agricultural growth and improve livelihoods.
During the meeting, heads of departments and district-level officers presented reports on the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes in Mokokchung district, highlighting their progress, achievements and challenges.
Earlier, Additional Commissioner of Mokokchung Dr. Madhavi R gave a PowerPoint presentation on the district profile and key development indicators.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung Ajit Kumar Verma, while the vote of thanks was delivered by ADC (Hq) Atsung Walling.
