- IMPHAL — Union
Minister of State (MoS) for Minority Affairs, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and
Dairying, George Kurian, accompanied by officials, on Friday visited Senapati
district headquarters and inspected various Institutions and project sites in
the hill district.
- During the day’s visit, the MoS inspected Model Residential
School at Taphou Naga; District Hospital, Senapati; Astro Turf, Senapati; multi-purpose
parking lot and Model Anganwadi Centre at Rikhumai Taphou.
- Kurian also interacted with the village chiefs while
inspecting Village Chief Association Building.
- Later, he chaired a review meeting with the districts level
officers (DLOs) on the implementation of central flagship programmes and
policies, and also reviewed progress reports of various departments at DC
conference hall, Senapati town.
- Among others, the review meeting was attended by DC
Senapati, Mamoni Doley; SP Senapati, Anupam, ADC Rang David Kung; DFO Shanngam
S; CEO (Autonomous District Council) Adahrii Maheo and district level officers.
- "Several key issues were also discussed pertaining to
the implementation of projects under various central schemes," informed an
official of the DIPR stationed at Senapati.
- In the meeting, the Union minister shared the PM's concern
of developing north- eastern states. He also applauded the Senapati district
administration for the overall performance in delivering services to the
people.
- The visiting central minister also took stock on the
implementation of various central schemes and projects such as PMJAY, PMMVY, PM
JANMAN, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Poshan Abhiyan, AAY, PHH, PM Poshan Scheme,
JJM, PMAY-G, and skill developments under the departments of Health, ICDS,
Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution, Education, Agriculture and
others.
- Further, the minister also reviewed various activities taken
up by other departments.
