Kohima, April 17 (EMN): Morung United humiliated MRH FC by a margin of 6-1 at the ongoing Morning Premier League match on Monday morning at Kohima local ground.
Morung leapfrog Medical XI in 3rd place with 13 points in the table, even though Medical XI has a game in hand who will be facing MRH Sunrisers on Tuesday. A win will not be enough as Morung United will remain at 3rd place with better goal difference. MRH FC has now lost two successive matches but remained in the second place with 15 points at the Morning League table.
In the match, Lithung of Morung proved to be the decisive factor in the game as he scored a hat-trick in the 3' 33' and 73' minute, while Pirong, Seto, and Zabhi chipped in with a goal each during the match.
The lone goal for MRH FC came from the boot of Asu in the 51' minute.
In the other match on Saturday, Power Comm slaughtered Silver White by 8-1. With the win, Power Comm has 9 points on the table and sits at 5th place whereas Silver White winless in the tournament remained at the bottom.
Viposa of PowerComm scored a hat- trick with goals coming in the 3' 79' and 81' minute. Gum scored a brace in the 6' and 52' minute. Along with Dili, Shatilo and Japu contributing a goal each in the 63', 69', 83' minutes respectively. The lone goal for Silver White came from the boot of Ajay in the 22' minute.
