Dimapur, June 22 (EMN): In pursuance to the direction of the ministry of human resource development, Government of India, KROS College, Leirie, observed the International Day of Yoga on June 21.
The day was observed by conducting activities for dissemination and popularisation of yoga.

MGM College, in collaboration with the department of youth resources and sports, has observed the International Day of Yoga in the college premises on June 21.
The programme was marked by orientation and yoga sessions. Students from MGM College, MGM higher secondary school and Yemhi Memorial College participated in the programme.
Rita Singh, woman president of Patanjali, spoke about the importance of yoga and its health benefits. In the second session the students along with the trainer’s performed various poses.
The programme was arranged by Sangita Bora, a professional yoga trainer and a faculty of MGM higher secondary school. Meanwhile, the college’s principal has announced to start regular yoga classes in the college.
Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles has organised the International Yoga Day in all its three military garrisons of Assam Rifles Training Centre and School namely at Shokhuvi, Dimapur and Diphu. A total of 3115 soldiers including 112 families have joined in the yoga session.
The yoga day was observed under the patronage of Brig Gurjap Singh, Commandant Assam Rifles Training Centre and School. The aim of yoga day was to integrate the body and mind to achieve harmony and peace. Yoga has been incorporated as a part of routine physical fitness for the troops.
