Saturday.
- DIMAPUR — More
than 200 runners participated in the 5K Charity Run held on Saturday, starting
from Fun City, Sovima, and passing through Pelke, Sovima Garden Mission Church,
Naithu Villa, and Namsa Office.
- The event was organised as part of The White Owl Literary
Festival and Book Fair, along with a charity concert, to promote inclusivity,
raise awareness, and support individuals with special needs.
- The events aim to inspire empathy, encourage equal
educational opportunities for all children, and raise funds to support two
organisations: Keystone Education Society, Dimapur, and Bumblebee Inclusive
School, Kohima.
- Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Advisor to the
Chief Minister and Chairman of the Investment and Development Authority of
Nagaland (IDAN), Abu Metha, lauded the organisers for their commendable
initiative and congratulated all the participants and winners.
- While some may win and others may not, the courage to step
forward, participate, and share their message is an achievement in itself, he
stated. He noted that everyone faces struggles, be they physical, mental, or
emotional, but how one responds to these challenges defines their journey.
- He said that they must face challenges head-on, work hard,
stay committed, and believe in themselves, as success rewards those who put in
effort and dedication.
- Metha also cited the inspiring example of Paralympics bronze
medallist Hokato Hotozhe Sema, highlighting his resilience and determination.
He urged the gathering not to let challenges define their limits, but to work
hard, maintain discipline, and stay committed, as these were the keys to
success.
- In the female category, Wangsuklin, Jeliam Khiam, Mungatsa
Nyuthe, Beatrice Imsujungla Longkumer, and Henriette Ilsa Longkumer were
