PVHSS: Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS), Dimapur observed International Yoga Day at Schools’ auditorium on June 21. On the occasion, principal of the school, Monoj Bhattacharjee shared the concept of yoga and highlighted the importance of yoga postures in maintaining a balanced and healthy life. Yoga is a way of life and not some ordinary exercise, he added.
More than 50 students participated and performed various yogic feats and presented special numbers on yoga.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Lakshman Chandra Das, headmaster, who appreciated Sajal Roy, Yoga teacher for his effort to teach students and all participants.
Leo Club: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, all Leo clubs under Leo District 322D in association with Leo District 323 B3 (Ahmedabad, India) and Leo District 301 A2 ( Phillipines) organised an international joint project where members belonging to these districts organized yoga camps at morning in schools and public grounds in their respective cities. Highlighting the importance of yoga in lives, project chairman of Leo Pratik Gangh urged all the club members to actively pursue yoga on a regular basis in order to attain good health and peace of mind.
15 Assam Rifles: 15 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) observed International Yoga Day at Shamatore and other locations on 21 June. 244 soldiers, 92 civilians and 99 school children participated in the celebrations.
Importance of Yoga towards a holistic approach to health and well-being, unity of mind, body, thought and action was impressed upon the participants. Yoga program was conducted for an hour consisting of Asanas, Pranayamas and Yoga-nidra practice, to help maintain the equilibrium between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems and to help alleviate the stress.
HQ IGAR (N): HQ IGAR (N) as a nodal agency for all CAPF commemorated the 3rd International Yoga Day by bringing together troops of Assam Rifles and other CAPF of Nagaland in the capital in Kohima. A total of 22 officers, 43 JCOs, 415 other ranks and 102 families and children observed the day. HQ IGAR (N) organised the Yoga in salubrious environment of Kohima at the Helipad Ground.
Similar camps were organised at various other locations which was attended by all ranks and families.
Yoga camp at Tuensang was celebrated under the theme “Yoga for health” to create balance between body and mind. A total of 155 personnel including ladies and children participated in the event.
In Zunheboto, 5 Assam Rifles with an aim of prolonging healthy and happy life and include Yoga in daily regimen.
Assam Rifles celebrated International Yoga Day at Dimapur, Ghaspani and Jalukie. A lecture highlighting importance of yoga, health benefits and cure of life style diseases through yoga was followed by demonstration cum practice of various yoga asanas. The troops of Assam Rifles and their families participated in the event enthusiastically and with great zeal.
Assam Rifles also organised the Yoga event at Chukitong, Wokha, Kiphire, Phek, Chieswema and its company based locations.
35 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised a yoga camp at Naginimora on the occasion of 3rd International Yoga Day. A total of 299 persons including officers, and other ranks alongwith families and children, ex-servicemen and civilians participated in the camp. Pamphlets regarding various Asans of Pranayam were also distributed among participants.
