More rainfall predicted for Nagaland and other northeastern states till September 12

DIMAPUR — Heavy rainfall is likely to continue over Nagaland during the next four days, from September 9 to the 12th, updated the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

It said ‘light and moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall and thunderstorm with isolated heavy rainfall activity very likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till September 12 and Arunachal Pradesh on September 10’.

District-wise update for Nagaland shows that Dimapur is likely to continue experiencing high temperatures during the next two days (September 9 and 10) with a maximum temperature of 38 °C and 27 °C minimum, while Tuensang district is likely to have the lowest temperature in the state with  28 °C maximum and 17 °C minimum during the same period.

The IMD also updated that light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall is very likely over the Northeast and East regions during the rest days of the week. Light to moderate isolated scattered rainfall is very likely over the Central region; light to moderate scattered or fairly widespread rainfall over the South and West regions; while no significant rainfall is likely over the Northwest region during the same period, predicted IMD.
