LCYO: Leirie Chazou Youth Organisation (LCYO) has strongly denounced the ‘attempted murder’ against Kelei Zeliang, secretary to Chief Minister and Rural Development and his family on August 21, by four miscreants, who have entered his private resident at Lierie Chazou colony, Kohima with weapons.
LCYO condemned the act of the miscreants and appealed the law enforcing authority to thoroughly investigate the case, arrest the miscreants, identify their motivation and bring them to justice.
LCYO said disturbing the peaceful atmosphere of the colony by any anti-social elements against the bonafide members of their colony can never be tolerated at any cost. Further, LCYO called upon all the right thinking citizens to condemn the incident as such sick mindset has no place in the society.
LSU: The Lamhai Students’ Union (LSU) has strongly condemned the dastardly act of some unidentified miscreants who criminally trespassed into the private residence of Kelei Zeliang, secretary to Chief Minister and Secretary RD, on August 21 at Kohima.
Citing the scene of the incident, the LSU stated that this suggests that there is a mafia type organisation operating in the state and added that such anti social activities in a Christian state is highly disgraceful and uncalled for.
Describing the secretary as an honest and upright officer with rare calibre, the LSU said there is no way that he may have offended anyone knowingly. “If at all there had been any misunderstanding, there is no reason to threaten or intimated anyone or any person the way those miscreants behaved which is most uncivilized and despicable. Any dispute could have been settled in a cultured and civilized manner” the press release added.
LSU strongly stands in solidarity with Kelei in this time of unwanted situation and strongly urged upon the law enforcing agencies not to leave any stone unturned to bring the culprits to book and to ensure such incident do not happen again. Further, LSU called upon all the right thinking citizens to condemn such criminal and cowardly act which is not a part of Naga culture.
ZCNEI: Zeme Council North East India (ACNEI) has vehemently condemned the inhuman treatment to its bonafide member Kelei Zeliang who was outrageously threaten and harassed by the unidentified miscreants on August 21 for no apparent reason. The council implored upon the law keepers to book the culprit and punish appropriately as per the laws of the land at the earliest possible time.
VCUPD: The Village Council Union Peren District (VCUPD) has condemned the dastardly act of intimidation and threat meted out to Kelei Zeliang, secretary to Chief Minister and Rural Development by some unidentified miscreants on August 21 at his private residence in Kohima. The VCUPD reminded that such act of sending miscreants to intimidate and threaten another person is alien to Naga culture and is not tolerable. “Kelei Zeliang is known as a soft spoken and sincere officer who doesn’t deserve to be treated in this manner. Had there been any differences between them it should have been settled amicably but not in the manner that had happened” stated the press release. The union believed that all peace loving citizen of Nagaland will condemn such act and make sure that this kind of barbaric act does not become a social menace in the Naga society.
VCUPD appealed to the government to expedite the investigation and give befitting punishment to the culprits as per the law.
: The Kohima District VDB Union (KDVDBU) has condemned the unfortunate incident at the residents of Kelie Zeliang, secretary RD on the night of August 21. The KDVDBU appealed to the law enforcing agency to immediately apprehend the culprits and bring them to justice.
NSMEA: The Nagaland State MGNREGA Employees Association (NSMEA) has condemned the August 21 incident, where some armed unidentified miscreants barged into the residence of Kelei Zeliang, secretary RD & Commissioner (MGNREGA) and threatened the members of the family with dire consequences. Stating that what could have happen if the secretary was home, the NSMEA thanked god for saving his life. The association urged the law enforcing agency to investigate and book the culprits at the earliest.
