The Kohima Lotha Hoho, Kohima (KLH) has condemned the action of the four armed cadres waylaying and meting out brutal actions on innocent travellers near Zunheboto town on December 21. It is highly condemnable and objectionable because it is an act of shaming not only the name of NSCN (IM) but also the entire Naga society, KLH president Nchumbemo Tungoe and general secretary, Thunglamo Ovung stated in a joint statement. While sharing the pain of the innocent victims, it has expressed ‘solidarity with the people of Zunheboto’, and appeal the right thinking members of NSCN (IM) to take urgent corrective measures as demanded by the Sumi organizations to prevent further deterioration of the extremely volatile situation.
No other interest but Justice must be the focal point in resolving the issue.
In the same rpress note, it also expressed its deep anguish at the inhuman treatment meted out to the innocent Rengma Nagas in Karbi Anglong by the KPLT.
The unilateral action of the KPLT causing death, burning down villages, destroying livelihood and displacing people from their homes and hearths is highly unforgivable. We, therefore, appeal the Government of Assam for bringing justice at the earliest for peaceful co-existence, it added.
THN: The Tangkhul Hoho, Nagaland (THN) has expressed shocked to learn the unwarranted and barbaric incident of December 21 at Aghuyito village junction near Satakha town in Zunheboto wherein the passengers of a taxi including a minor girl and lady missionary were tortured and beaten up in a most inhuman manner by armed cadres of NSCN (IM).
“As per the news reports, even the minor girl and the woman missionary were not spared but sexually abused and all the passengers mercilessly beaten up inflicting serious injuries on their body for no fault. The THN cannot but condemn such uncivilised act of the NSCN (IM) cadres and demand speedy justice for the act committed,” a press note issued by NA Kasar and N jagoi, THN presidentand general secretary respectively stated.
This barbaric incident resulted the tension in the NSCN(IM) designated camp in Mukalimi village in Zunheboto district when irate public uprise against the highhandedness of the former and subsquent loss of two lives besides grievously injuring few others in two days on Decmber 28 and 29, it added.
While appealing the NSCN(IM) authorities to rein their cadres and that civic sense prevail in the Naga society, the THN has shareed its deepest condolence to the bereaved families of the deceased and prayed for speedy recovery of those injured in the mayhem.
Sumi Baptist Convention
The Sumi Baptist Convention (SBC), appex body of all Sumi Baptist Association, has vehemently condemned the shocking incident that happened on December 21 at Aghuyito Village Junction where all the innocent passengers were harassed, tortured and the ladies were molested and harassed both mentally and physically by the armed personnels of the NSCN (IM) in a most inhuman and barbaric manner.
The missionary who was working away from home coming to celebrate Christmas with her family at home was greeted with bitter life experience in the land of her ‘Home sweet home’.
The act was highly condemnable, unbecoming and uncultured in the decent society and the land we are living today where Love is taught not only among brothers but also to love our enemies as well.
Nagaland is a land where we the people strongly represent ourselves as ‘Nagaland for Christ’, a press note issued by Rev Dr Khehovi Shohe, Director SBC and Ghovili Achumi, president SBC stated and further urged all the believers to stand for the truth and to love one another.
