Dimapur, Oct. 13 (EMN): A number of organisations and individuals called on Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Saturday in Dimapur and handed over donations to the chief minister’s relief fund, updates from the chief minister’s office (CMO) stated on Oct. 13.
The Kerala Samajam of Dimapur handed over a cheque of INR 1,00,000; private citizens Bobby Panicker and wife Narola Ao donated INR 1,00,000; the Network of Nagaland Drugs and AIDS Organisation handed over a cheque of INR 1,00,990, the CMO stated in a note.
The CMO stated that the chief Minister expressed gratitude to the donors for contributing to the humanitarian aid for those affected by the recent monsoon-related emergency in Nagaland.
The chief minister tweeted his appreciation on the micro blogging site Twitter: “My sincere gratitude to Kerala Samajam Dimapur and Mr Bobby Panicker & his wife Narola Ao for contributing 1 Lakh each towards Chief Minister Relief Fund. I also thank Network of Nagaland Drugs & AIDS Organisation (N-Naga DAO) for donating 1,00,990/- #NagalandFloods.”
A separate update, from the security forces, also informed that the Assam Rifles’ Mon
battalion donated a sum of INR 40,000 to the chief minister’s relief fund. The charity was received by Ramakant, the additional deputy commissioner of Mon district on behalf of the district’s administration, the updates stated.
