Korean pop group Mont gave an exciting performance to a jam-packed audience of an estimated four thousand teeny poppers from Nagaland consisting mostly of girls in their teens. Indeed, the thousands of teeny poppers sang to every number the band belted out.
Mont sang numbers not only in Korean but English and Hindi as well. Some commented that Mont sang better in Hindi than Nagas!
The director of Korean Cultural Centre at New Delhi, Kim Kum Pyoung also attended the occasion.
Abu Mehta, advisor to the chief minister, said that that event was a proud moment for Nagaland. "From the bottom of my heart, I am very proud of Nagaland tonight," he said. He said that the night had given Nagaland a new face.
Mont concluded the show even as the crowd clamoured for an encore. After the last song, the Kpop band thanked the crowd and asked for remembrance besides support to their career a long time.
"We want to be famous and come back again to Nagaland and for Hornbill again," the band members told the crowd.
This gig was Mont’s pre-debut concert in India and their first in Nagaland.
