Dimapur, July 30 (EMN): A meeting of the Block Farmer’s Advisory Committee (BFAC) was conducted by the Agricultural Technology Management Agency of Mon on July 25 at Mon town, a press release from the organisers informed on Sunday. Sixteen members from various villages in the block attended the meeting.
Vimeno Zao, BTM, highlighted the activities that had been conducted in the block, the press release informed. Nemchaba Jamir, ATM, gave a brief outline about the BFAC.
“The problems faced by the farmers and suggestions for improvement was shared by the members. Various training and demonstration needs as well as other activities were also discussed,” the press release stated.

Further, a training programme on self-help group book-keeping and a demonstration on “preparation of detergent” and “preparation of dishwash” were conducted at Totok Chingha on July 28, the organisers informed.
Nemchaba Jamir, BTM, spoke about on the importance of maintaining proper records and registers to the SHGs. Vimeno Zao BTM gave a hands-on demonstration on preparation of detergent.
“Later Roseline Pusa, BTM demonstrated on dishwash making. Altogether 19 trainees from different SHGs attended the programme. Detergent kits along with packing materials and dishwash kits were distributed to the SHGs,” the press release stated.
Also, on July 29, a demonstration on “preparation of detergent and dishwash” was also conducted at Totok Chingnyu. The programme was chaired by Nemchaba Jamir, BTM. The resource person was Vimeno Zao, BTM. 16 trainees attended the programme, the organisers informed.
Phomching block
The ATMA of Mon, Phomching block, conducted a BFAC meeting on July 24 at Yuching village. A brief highlight about the activities of the BFAC was given during the event.
“The need for various trainings and demonstrations to be taken up at different villages under the block were discussed. Altogether 8 members attended the meeting,” the organisers stated in the press release.
A daylong training and demonstration programme was conducted by the ATMA Phomching Block on July 28 at Yuching village too. The resource persons were Nunghothung Odyuo, BTM; Kanato, ATM; and Yokjun Konyak.
Nunghothung Odyuo, BTM, gave a hands-on demonstration on preparation of dishwash. Kanato ATM demonstrated on the management practices of soyabean including land preparation, row spacing etc. Late Yokjun Konyak demonstrated on preparation of coffee nursery bed. Altogether 25 trainees attended the programme. Soyabean seeds and dishwash kits were distributed to the participants, the organisers stated.
Aboi block
The ATMA of Aboi block also conducted a meeting of the BFAC on July 28 at Langmeang village. Mhachamo Ngullie, BTM, gave a brief note on the work of the BFAC and the ATMA in the area. Members gave feedback and suggestions, the organisers stated. The importance of coordination between the functionaries and farmers were emphasized during the event.
On July 29, a demonstration programme on preparing dishwash was conducted at Langmeang village. The resource person Mhachamo Ngullie, BTM, gave a hands-on demonstration on how to prepare dishwash. He urged the trainees to utilise the available resources and venture into activities which can be useful for both home use as well as for income generation. Altogether 15 trainees attended and the programme concluded with the distribution of dishwashing kits, the organisers stated.
