Dimapur, August 4 : The Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) has appealed to the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) not to issue ‘tender permit’ for essential commodities to any individual or firm.
"KVYO strongly insist (sic) on the open tendering system" stating that the present coupon issuing system can control and curb the price escalation and being competition to the market, a note from the organization to the media stated on Thursday.
“Whereas, monopoly's potential to raise is its most critical detriment to consumers. Monopoly allows an individual and firm to get maximum profit leaving the public to suffer thereby effecting the economy as well.” The organization has requested “the politicians” not to recommend “any such case of monopoly” to The Kohima municipal.
“KVYO while extending its full support to KMC, also voiced that KMC should not in any case entertain the tender permit because such practices will be boycotted at any cause.”
