- MOKOKCHUNG — Strengthening
its grassroots presence, the 25 Mongoya Assembly Constituency Congress
Committee (ACCC) inaugurated its treasurer’s residence (Congress Bhavan) at
Lijaba Lijen ward on Saturday.
- The event was marked by a flag hoisting ceremony led by 25
Mongoya ACCC president, Alemkaba Jamir.
- In his address, Alemkaba Jamir highlighted the detrimental
effects of egotism and arrogance, stating that those negative traits create
divisions and resentment within society. He emphasised the need to uproot such
stumbling blocks to facilitate progress.
- He asserted that mutual respect and understanding are
essential in fostering unity and affirmed that Congress party would take the
initiative to strengthen those values from the grassroots upwards.
- He further stated that Congress is the only secular and
democratic party in the nation that respects all religions without
discrimination and functions in accordance with democratic principles. He
criticised the BJP, arguing that it is not a suitable political party for the
Naga people.
- Jamir urged the party workers to set their sights on the
2028 elections by working toward nominating a capable Congress candidate for
the 25 Mongoya Assembly Constituency. He further encouraged them to begin their
efforts immediately to ensure the party’s resurgence.
- Expressing confidence in the Congress party’s growth, he
remarked that with the inauguration of the new Bhavan, the Lijaba Lijen
Congress Unit would strengthen its presence alongside the wider Congress network
across the state.
