Mon and Tseminyu advance after winning their respective matches in the Senior Men’s Inter District Tournament qualifiers.

DIMAPUR — Two matches of the Senior Men’s Inter District Tournament qualifiers were played in Tseminyu on Monday.
According to a match report, Mon registered a comfortable victory over Kiphire, while Tseminyu secured a close win against Phek in a closely fought encounter.
In the first qualifier between Kiphire and Mon at Ziphenyu Ground, Tseminyu, Mon won by seven wickets.
After winning the toss and opting to field, Mon restricted Kiphire to 109 in 19.3 overs. Despite early setbacks, Sani Das provided a counterattack with 45 off 24 balls to push the total past the hundred mark.
Mon’s bowling attack maintained control throughout the inning. Stephen Patton led the effort with figures of 3/28.

In reply, Mon chased the target comfortably, reaching 112/3 in 15.3 overs. Lanpang P Konyak anchored the inning with an unbeaten 51 off 31 balls, guiding his side to victory. He was named Player of the Match.
In the second qualifier between Phek and Tseminyu at RSA Ground, Tseminyu won by three wickets.
Phek posted 137/3 in 20 overs after being put in to bat. Thepuvet provided a late surge with 40 off 16 balls, helping the team finish strongly. Tseminyu’s bowling effort was led by Prinal Deb with 2/17, while Rohit Kumar Sah took 1/14.
Chasing 138, Tseminyu reached the target at 141/7 in 16.3 overs. Sinilo Kent played a key role in the chase with an unbeaten 42 off 36 balls, guiding Tseminyu to victory and earning the Player of the Match award.
The upcoming matches on March 17 (Tuesday) include Tuensang vs Zunheboto at RSA Ground and Peren vs Longleng at Ziphenyu Ground.
