The state level science seminar 2019 was conducted on the topic, “Periodic table of chemical elements: Impact on human welfare” in the town hall of Mokokchung. Nine students representing their respective district participated in the event.
Speaking at the formal programme as the special guest, Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung Rajesh Soundararajan urged the students to not see science only as a subject but to look from the perspective of how science has impacted and contributed to the advancement of people’s life.
People need to focus and understand the basics and fundamentals of science to be comfortable with the subject, he said. “If you are not strong in your basic and fundamentals of science then it will be a tough subject for you,” Soundararajan said. He urged the participants to not only focus on their presentations alone but to try gain more inputs from their fellow participants to become more knowledgeable.
The seminar was organised by the directorate of School Education and hosted by the district education office of Mokokchung.
