  • DIMAPUR — To bolster public safety and enhance law enforcement efficiency, the Mon Police inaugurated a quick reaction team (QRT) and a dedicated traffic cell at Tizit on Monday.

  • According to an update, the initiative was formally launched by the Superintendent of Police, Mon, Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, who highlighted the importance of rapid response mechanisms in maintaining law and order, especially in sensitive and strategically important areas such as Tizit.

  • He stated that the QRT is designed to respond swiftly to any emerging law and order situation, thereby ensuring the safety and security of the public.

  • Speaking at the event, Kandpal emphasised the Mon Police's commitment to proactive policing and community partnership, stating that the launch of the QRT and traffic cell at Tizit reflected ongoing efforts to make policing more responsive, accountable, and people-centric.

  • He mentioned that the traffic cell at Tizit had been established with the objective of promoting road safety, regulating traffic movement, and ensuring systematic and effective traffic management in the region.

  • The launch programme was attended by representatives of various civil society organisations (CSOs), police personnel, and officials from different government departments.
