Dimapur, Feb. 7 (EMN): Mon district launched an awareness drive to instil confidence among the healthcare workers and frontline workers about Covid-19 vaccine.

An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Mon, stated that vaccinated healthcare workers spoke about their health after receiving the shots. It added that private clinics, personnel from police headquarters, officials from the district administration and healthcare centres including Ashas and AWWs were sensitised in and around the district.

During the drive, the message was conveyed to understand the vaccine first, its AEFI (adverse effect following immunisation), CAB, myths and misconception, the statement read. The objective was to build trust and enable greater confidence in the Covid-19 vaccine among people by employing transparency in communication while also managing any misinformation and rumours about the vaccine.

It also informed that the second phase of vaccination drive for frontline workers would start from February 8. The resource persons were the deputy commissioner, DIO (UIP&RCH), block medical officers, vaccinated healthcare workers, BPMs and media officers.
