Monthly meeting of Mon DPDB focuses on key projects and Mon Smart Hub Portal.

DIMAPUR — The monthly meeting of Mon District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was held on September 26 at the DC’s conference hall, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman of DPDB Mon, Wennyei Konyak.
According to a DIPR report, SDO (C), Mon, Ajit Kumar highlighted the objectives, importance and the features of Mon Smart Hub Portal (Smart Governance, Better Services, Bright Future), which was inaugurated by the deputy commissioner.
The board reviewed the minutes of the previous month's meeting and deliberated on several key agenda items, including the establishment of a private bus stand at Yingtongho below Mon village, upgrade of AME (Mechanical) to EE Mon division, and the construction of a new office building and staff quarters for SDEO Tizit and Wakching.
The board also approved the registration of the Spoken English Academy at Walo ward in Mon town and forwarded the proposal to the government for final approval.

During the meeting, Ajit Kumar elaborated on the Vibrant Village Programme, a Government of India initiative aimed at enhancing the accessibility and infrastructure of border villages, including improvements in roads, telecommunications, electricity, education, and healthcare.
To improve the livelihood of local people and provide them with basic necessities, he added that under Phase 2 of the Myanmar Vibrant Village Programme, nine villages in Mon district have been selected.
The SDO also informed that the selection of skill/training centres for PMVY is limited in Mon district, and only those who undergo the training will be eligible to access bank loan facilities.
In this regard, Y Shoiyan Konyak, General Manager of DIC Mon, appealed to the heads of departments to provide access to the office's conference hall, enabling them to impart various skills and training to the local population.
