- DIMAPUR — The
deputy commissioner (DC) of Mon, Wennyei Konyak on May 15 inaugurated the
dialysis unit at District Hospital (DH) in Mon town, which was funded by the
Indian Oil Company (IOC).
- Dr. Aman Konyak, medical superintendent of DH, Mon, informed
that the new dialysis unit will have three beds and four machines to be managed
by a surgeon, qualified nurses and a technician.

- He commended the Department of Health and Family Welfare for
taking the effort, and also expressed his gratitude to the IOC, stated an
update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Mon.
- Speaking at the inaugural programme, the deputy commissioner
expressed confidence that the availability of vital renal care for Mon
residents would significantly cut down on patient travel to Dimapur. He also
stated that there would be a high volume of patients because of the high
prevalence of chronic kidney disease.
- He also expressed gratitude to the Department of Health and
Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland and the IOC for improving Mon's
healthcare services. He further promised to provide any assistance to the unit
in the near future and urged the staff members to utilise the facility to its
fullest potential for the community.
- A dedication prayer was said by YP David Konyak, chaplain of
DH, Mon. The programme was attended by representatives from KU and KNSK,
superintendent of police, CMO and staff of DH.
