Dimapur, Dec. 4 (EMN): Mon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) has directed all the business establishments in Mon headquarters not to entertain any illegal tax/ demand/ donation, while it also asked the shopkeepers to immediately report to the concerned authority in such event.
In a press release, the organisation president N Ünok SN has asked the shop owners to desist from selling intoxicants such liquor and opium. It warned that the organisation would not be held responsible if they are found indulging in such activities.
Stating that rice should be weighed in the presence of customer, it warned that action would be taken against anyone selling expiry goods, BPL, AAY, MDM and government supply rice in the market.
It also directed all the business establishments to decorate their shops for Christmas and New Year on or before December 15 and to facilitate shoppers by keeping their shops opened till 5 pm.
Meanwhile, the organisation announced to conduct mass social work on December 8. In this regard, it has directed all the shops to remain close from 6 am to 12 noon. Forbiding all the business community not to sell expiry goods, it also asked the butchers to sell only fresh meat.
