- DIMAPUR — A
farewell programme for the outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Ajit Kumar
Verma, was held at the Town Council Hall, Mon, on Tuesday.
- According to a DIPR report, Verma, in his farewell speech,
expressed his gratitude to all the heads of departments (HoDs), staff of the
administration, civil societies, police, and the general public of Mon district
for their cooperation and support during his almost three-year tenure as the
DC.
- He mentioned that without the police, the administration
cannot maintain law and order. He thanked all the superintendents of police
posted in Mon District during his tenure.

- He encouraged officers, HoDs, and civil societies to
continue working for the welfare of the people, citing that Mon is a fertile
ground and mentioning potential sectors such as education, health, and tourism.
- During the function, the new Deputy Commissioner of Mon,
Wennyei Konyak, was also welcomed. He congratulated the outgoing DC for the
successful completion of his tenure in the Mon district and wished him further
success in his new assignment. He added that he is delighted and considers it a
privilege to serve his people.
- Verma will now serve as the DC of Mokokchung District.
- On the occasion, short speeches were also delivered by SDPO
Bendang Wati, president of Konyak Union Tingtok Konyak; presidents of Konyak
Nyupuh Sheko and Konyak Students' Union; CMO Mon on behalf of Mon DPDB; Martha
on behalf of DC staff Mon headquarters; and Pakon Phom on behalf of the
district administration, Mon.
