The cool autumn night was warmed by the soft tunes of country music as musicians and singers in Mokokchung town gathered for a country night at ‘Just a Venue’ (or commonly called as JAV) on Nov. 10 Fri. evening much to the enjoyment of country music lovers.
This year, Mokokchung musicians came together and charted out a calendar of year long event and the country night was of the event which was held successfully, a press release mentioned.
Held under the banner of ‘Mokokchung Music Lovers & Organisers’, the group is said to have successfully hosted Valentines Night on February 14; Gospel Rock Concert on March 26; a Blues Night, a Dylan’s Night, World Music Day, a tribute concert etc.
Friday evening was another such night. The timeless Huntingboots Inc, a group of musicians, who fostered their friendship while serving a Church leaders and their love for Elvis songs, performed some country songs much to the enjoyment of the audience. Lijem, Sentimenla, Imye Longkumer, Shilu, Adang Jamir and others, who are well known musicians in their own rights, took the stage and belted out the ageless country songs from the likes of Don Williams, Kenny Rogers, etc.
As the year comes to an end, the calendar of event will culminate with the mega Inter-Ward Beat Contest which is said to be held in the month of December.
Meanwhile, the organisers in the release have expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors, the music lovers and the musicians for making the event a grand success.
The organisers thanked the proprietor of ‘Just a Venue’ for the space, Temsu Imsong for the sound system, Temsu Jamir for the lightings, Adang Jamir and Lawrence Imchen for being the masters of ceremony, Tongdang Ozukum for additional sound back-up, the organizing team members and also the music lovers who thronged the venue.
