MOKOKCHUNG — The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, has called for a district-wide mass social work event on June 14, starting at 7:00 am, to prepare for the upcoming monsoon season.
The initiative, outlined in a circular issued by the DC Ajit Kumar Verma on June 5, aims to clear waterlogged areas, clogged drains, plastic waste, and overgrown vegetation across towns, villages, offices, and roads in Mokokchung district.
All departments, offices, business establishments, institutions, and the general public are requested to participate actively. For areas under the municipal and town councils, concerned administrative officers will monitor the work, while village councils will coordinate with area administrative officers to ensure proper planning and mobilisation.
Action reports, including geo-tagged photographs, must be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office via WhatsApp (8731889309) or email.
The circular, issued under the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), emphasises proactive measures to mitigate waterlogging, flash floods, and landslides, aligning with recent monsoon preparedness efforts across Mokokchung.
