Dimapur, March 22 (EMN): A racing event dubbed the ‘Mokokchung Marathon 2018’ was hosted by Mokokchung town on March 22. The marathon was conducted to commemorate World Water Day with the theme ‘Nature for water.’
The event was organized by the Mokokchung Press Club in collaboration with the Water Sanitation and Support Organization of Mokokchung.
A press release from the District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) of Mokokchung on March 22 informed that a runner, Thungdi , won the race in the men’s category while Chemdila won the race in the women’s category. Merentemsu, 12 years, and in the men’s category; and Sentilemla, nine years, in women’s category were the youngest participants, the DPRO informed.
The DPRO stated that the president of the Ao Senden Imliyanger gave away certificates of merit to the winners at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex.
