Mokokchung Police intercept a fake army vehicle carrying over 15,800 empty liquor bottles meant for illicit production.

MOKOKCHUNG — In a late-night operation, Mokokchung Police intercepted a vehicle impersonating an army duty vehicle and recovered a large cache of empty liquor bottles suspected to be used for illicit liquor production on May 8.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a surprise check around 9 pm at the Sewak Gate area. The police stopped a Tata vehicle bearing registration number AS 25 DC 9621, which was displaying a sign reading "ON ARMY DUTY".
Upon thorough inspection, police discovered 184 bags containing approximately 15,824 empty McDowell rum bottles. Four individuals were apprehended along with the vehicle.
They have been identified as Rongsentoshi Ao (29), a resident of Artang Ward, Mokokchung town (native of Ungma village); Limanungsang (26), a resident of Artang Ward, Mokokchung town (native of Sungratsu village); Hassan Ali (25), a resident of Barjabari, Nalbari district, Assam; and Ruhul Amin (27), a resident of Barjabari, Nalbari district, Assam.

Police suspect the empty bottles were being transported for use in liquor adulteration or illegal manufacturing.
According to the additional superintendent of police and public relations officer (PRO) of Mokokchung Police, a case has been registered under the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act, and further investigation is underway.
