Mokokchung, June 16 (EMN): Under ‘Project Amalitep (cooperation)’ the Mokokchung police today organised a friendly football match with the students union of neighbouring villages of Ungma, Kubza and Youth Department of Mokokchung Town Baptist Church (MTBA Y/D) at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Saturday.
The match was played between the combined teams of Ungma Students Union (USU) and Mokokchung Police Station –II versus MTBA Y/D - Kubza Students Union (KSU) and Mokokchung Police Station –I.
The match ended with the combined team of MTBA Y/D - KSU- Mokokchung Police Station –I thrashing USU and Mokokchung Police Station –II by 3-1.
Earlier, Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung Raguramarajan A said today’s match is for promoting citizen friendly policing in the district. He also informed that under the same project the Mokokchung Police will be initiating many social activities to promote cooperation and mutual ties between police authorities and the public.
10 volunteers were selected under project Amalitep to assist the Mokokchung Traffic Police to ensure smooth regulation of traffic in the state’s third major urban centre, Mokokchung town after undergoing an orientation session.
