Dimapur, Dec. 7 (EMN): The monthly meeting of the District Planning and Development Board of Mokokchung district for the month of December was conducted on Dec. 7 in Mokokchung. The deputy commissioner of Mokokchung district, Sachin Jaiswal, presided over the meeting.
Jaiswal referred to an earlier notification to all the departments in the district directing submission of the list of personnel and vehicle for the forthcoming elections. The deputy commissioner asked the departments that have not yet submitted the list to do so at the earliest. He has asked all in concern to ‘take confirmation from the election branch in case of any confusion.’
The administrator also talked about streamlining procedures concerning returning officers (RO) and associated officers and sector magistrates for the forthcoming assembly elections. Jaiswal gave a brief explanation about the functioning of the VVPAT machine as well.
Sachin Jaiswal while requesting all the heads of offices to work as a team for the smooth conduct of the elections, he said to expect ‘all seriousness’ from them. The officers were asked to brief their respective staff regarding election duties. He warned of actions against any official not complying with the rules of election and related matters.
The deputy commissioner, also the president of the district sports council, informed the board that the district would be competing with a contingent of 170 sportspersons in 10 disciplines during the forthcoming Nagaland Olympics to be held at Dimapur from Dec. 12 to the 16th. Informing the officials about shortage of funds, he appealed for support from the heads of offices.
