- MOKOKCHUNG — The
6th Mokokchung Inter-School Badminton Championship, hosted by the Mokokchung
District Badminton Association (MDBA), concluded on April 26 at the Indoor
Badminton Stadium, Mokokchung.
- Jubilee Memorial School (JMS) and Queen Mary Higher
Secondary School (QMHSS) claimed the boys’ and girls’ team championship titles,
respectively, following a four-day tournament that featured 240 matches across
23 categories.
- From April 23 to the 26th, 170 players—120 boys and 50
girls—competed from 14 schools in the Mokokchung district. JMS secured the
Boys’ Team Championship, with QMHSS as runners-up, while QMHSS won the Girls’
Team Championship, with JMS in second place.

- Trophies, medals, and certificates were awarded to winners
in individual categories, with all participants receiving certificates.
- Lieutenant Colonel SA Pillai, Sena Medal, Commanding Officer
of the 25 Naga Battalion NCC, Mokokchung, attended the closing ceremony as the
special guest. He commended MDBA for organising the event, calling the
240-match competition "an amazing feat", and encouraged players to
embrace sports for their personal growth.
- A new feature of this year's championship was the
introduction of the Most Promising Player and Best Disciplined School awards.
Limsang of JMS was named the Most Promising Player for his performance in the
Under-11 category, and Christian Residential Higher Secondary School was
recognised as the Best Disciplined School.
