Dimapur, April 7 (EMN): A seminar about child rights was organised at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex in Mokokchung. The programme was organised by the Family Counselling Centre of care and support society of Mokokchung, a press release received here on Saturday informed.
The press release informed that the resource persons at the program were: Purnungsang (advocate), Dr.Arenla (child welfare committee), and AsulaImsong, protection officer (NIC). During the programme the resource persons lectured on the topic Child Rights- their rights to survival, protection, rights to development, rights to participation, child abuse, child labour, child trafficking, and protection of children from sexual abuse among others.
According to the press release the resource persons discussed about the issues on child discrimination. They stated that child protection unit is made available in all the districts of Nagaland. The unit work to provide care and protection to children, it added.
They request all the people and the students to join hands and make the districts a child friendly environment.
